Turning Point Bodymind Wellness Inc. is a Vancouver, BC based Chinese Medicine and acupuncture practice that has its special focus on treating depression, anxiety, mood swings and other body/mind conditions. The following program describes our standard treatment programs for depression and anxiety with natural and effective healing modalities such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, acutonic sound healing and life style conseling.

1. First Phase:

Even though Chinese Medicine's emphasis is always on dealing with deep underlying imbalances, the first phase of the program is mainly focused on symptom relief. The first phase of the program consists of twice a week acupuncture treatments for one to two months depending on each patient's response to the treatment.

After 8-10 treatments, most patients will experience relief of both physical and emotional symptoms to varying degrees. In response to the treatments, people tend to have more balanced appetite, better quality of sleep, increased energy and sense of emotional well being.

Acupuncture treatment

Most treatment programs begin with acupuncture, which is then supplemented by (or replaced with) one of the treatments described below.

Fee schedule: $85 for each 45-60 minute session

Monthly plan: $750 for 10 sessions (you save $100)

Herbal medicine

Herbal medicine will be prescribed, based on each patient's specific condition, to supplement and support the effects of acupuncture. The cost of the herbal medicine is in addition to the above treatment fees.

Energy Diagnostics and Treatment

For most patients, these sessions may be adopted toward the end of the first phase of the program. For patients whose symptoms are mainly emotional or mental, this method may be used in earlier sessions.

Fee schedule: $110 / hour

Diet and life style consultation

This is an important aspect of healing for every patient. A general consultation is included in treatment sessions and no extra fees are charged. However, if more specific consultations are required, supplemental fees will be charged based on the time we devote to the session.

After the first month's treatment, a progress evaluation session will assess each patient's condition, and depending on the results some patients will require one more course of treatment; while others will proceed to the second phase of the program.

2. Second Phase:

We will continue working on improving the free flow of Qi to maintain and build upon the beneficial results we achieved during the first phase. In addition, we will start to address some deeper level imbalances, and strengthen weakened energy systems.

The second phase consists of 8 treatments during the first month, and 4 treatments during the second month and third month.

Acupuncture treatment:

Acupunture continues to form the core of most second-phase treatment programs.

Fee Schedule: $85 for each 45-60 minute session

Monthly plan: $750 for 10 sessions (You save: $100)

Herbal medicine:

Herbal medicine will be prescribed, based on each patient's specific condition, to supplement and support the effects of acupuncture. The herbal prescription may be the same as that utilized in the first phase or may involve modified formulas. The cost of the herbal medicine is in addition to the above treatment fees.

Energy Diagnostics and Treatment:

For patients whose symptoms are mainly emotional or mental, this modality is very helpful.

When a cluster of points are found during the session to eliminate the negative belief or thoughts, patients are able to treat themselves at home by tapping these points to manage mood. One or more sessions may be needed depending on each patient's condition.

3. Third phase:

This is the phase of integration and maintenance. When we let go of the old waste energy and re-balance the energy system, our system starts to establish a healthier and more positive pattern.

When we face the stress and demands of daily life, this newly established order and pattern will be tested and challenged. If we can further integrate what we have achieved in the first and second phases of healing, the effect will be more long lasting. The patient will be more able to handle their own mood and prevent depression in the long run. The importance of this phase can not be over emphasized. The treatment frequency for this phase is once in each two weeks. Energy Diagnostic Treatment sessions are emphasized, so that any negative beliefs or thought patterns which are still affecting the emotional and physical well-being of the patient should be dealt with.

Acupuncture treatment:

In the third phase, acpuncture treatments are more subtle – more of a tune-up than a major overhaul.

Herbal medicine:

Herbal medicine will be prescribed, based on each patient's specific condition, to supplement and support the effects of acupuncture. The herbal prescription may be the same as that utilized in the second phase or may involve modified formulas. Most patients will go on a maintenance dosage at the third phase. The cost of the herbal medicine is in addition to the above treatment fees.

Energy Diagnostics and Treatment:

Any residual negative thought or emotional pattern will be dealt with. One or more sessions may be needed depending on each patient's condition.
